This view of Complex 34 from the blockhouse shows the cable way leading to the pad and rocket stand. To the left are the two flame deflectors. The mobile service structure (MSS) rolled away from the rocket stand on the tracks in the left side of the image.
Complex 34 was the launch site of Apollo 7 which carried Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and R. Walter Cunningham into orbit aboard the first Apollo mission.
Complex 34 is also the site of the tragic Apollo I fire which claimed the lives of Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee.
