This wreath was placed at the base of the launch ring at Complex 34, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the Apollo One fire. The Apollo I fire claimed the lives of Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee on January 27th, 1967.

Complex 34 was also the launch site of Apollo 7 which carried Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and R. Walter Cunningham into orbit aboard the first Apollo mission.
