There are four periscopes in in the blockhouse at Complex 36. They pre-date modern closed circuit T. V., but were still used to monitor the launches. Pranksters would put shoe polish around the black rubber eye-piece. Luckily, my security escort warned me before I took a peek. I found remnants when I made this image.
