The gantry at Complex 13 was the most complete of any of the deactivated pads at Cape Canaveral. Over time, the harsh ocean environment deteriorated the structure until it was no longer safe to approach. Large pieces came off in windy weather. The gantry was imploded in August of 2005
Complex 13 was the site of all five Lunar Orbiter missions. the Lunar Orbiters photographed possible landing sites for the manned Apollo landing missions to come.
