The launch ring and rocket stand at Complex 34 were restored in the late 1990s. Sandblasting and painting should help preserve this historic structure, though the caustic ocean atmosphere is already eating away at the new finish. Complex 34 was site of the tragic Apollo I fire and the launch of Apollo VII. To see how it looked before restoration, go to Launch Ring, Complex 34, CCAFS, FL.
